I was brought up in a household, where my parents started and ran three small businesses from scratch. Starting off on the kitchen table with a pen, paper, calculator and new idea, their businesses went onto employ hundreds of people. As a family we took many risks along the way, and at times cancelled holidays at the last minute because important contracts had just been won.
This experience deeply shaped my values and beliefs in how business and entrepreneurship is a force for good and that companies should be rewarded and helped in all that they do to create jobs, new ideas and wealth for society.
I am also a big fan of volunteering and have helped in many community events over the years, from the Queen’s Jubilee Party to Fathers’ Day BBQs.
